UNCONVENTIONAL METHODS OF SELECTION AND PLACEMENT - THE CONFLICT ZONE IN THE BULGARIAN SOCIETY

Abstract: On the grounds of results from panel empiric sociological research from 2015 a thesis is maintained that the unconventional methods ( personal service guardianship of kith and kin- nepotism; а receiving of advantage by a friends' line- clientеlism ; an intercession of recruitment  of certain individuals- a built-in lobbying) for selection and recruitment of candidates for a job replaces the conventional ones in the contemporary social practice. They are recognized in the public as well as in the private sector and are perceived in society as a norm and not a diversion.  Suggestions are made for implementation of changes in approaches for selection and recruitment through widening of the research field, increasement of publications, public activization and stimulation of civil susceptibility against nepotism, the cronyism, the built-in lobbyism, learning of new practices in the world, intensification of the social control for purposeful  overcome of the existing conflict zone in Bulgarian society.

LEXICAL MEANS OF CONCEPTUALIZATION OF TIME IN THE ONTOGENESIS OF BULGARIAN

Abstract: The present article focuses on the lexical means of conceptualisation of the category of time by Bulgarian pre-school children. The empirical data about this process are obtained through a specially designed psychological experiment with 90 children in the age range of 3 to 6 years old, and recordings of spontaneous speech produced by 5 Bulgarian children. In addition, the study is based on the analysis of free verbal associations of the words morning and night made by 100 5/6-year-old children, which sheds more light on the intuition-based model of the time category in Bulgarian pre-school children's language (see Dictionary of Associations in (Popova, 2000: 106-117)). The analyzed data show the diffuse character of children’s perception of time which is still amorphous and in this respect is quite distant from the intuitive model of a naïve adult native speaker.
